Moving On! Closing down Bananaspin

Today, I say goodbye to this blog. Good times, yes - but I think I have outgrown being "bananaspin" I just don't feel "it" anymore.

I started this blog shortly after I got published in Youngblood in 2004. I got a 'writing high' during that time and decided to publish this online column of my own. "Bananaspin" was a name of a drink I once tried at Segafredo's in Greenbelt (long gone, in its place now is the Flapjacks resto). The drink was a mixture of bananas and coffee. I can still remember its aroma.

We've gone through heartaches and heartbreaks, employment woes, major life decisions and milestones. We've gone places and we've talked about home.

Some of my favorite entries are the older ones, The Guitar, Wanted: Role Models, Choosing Reality -- and my all time favorite: The Basilan series.

I just feel like it's time for a change !!! Bananaspin will always be a part of me:-)

At this point - I'd like to thank everyone who followed Bananaspin :-) I know I might lose readership once I move on - But please feel free to follow me to my new spot on the web:

Apartment for Rent : San Lorenzo Village, makati

We're moving out ... so we'd like for somebody to move in!

It's an apartment unit in Zaragoza Street, San Lorenzo Village, Makati City.

One bedroom, one bathroom, 2 storey apartment for rent. Very good location in an exclusive subdivision, at least one parking slot available. Walking distance to Glorietta, Greenbelt, Park Square, Makati Central Business District. Perfect for yuppies and students (Assumption is just around the corner..) Sq meter measurement to follow :-) sorry I couldn't find the measurement but it's a comfortable space.

Pantry cabinets, clothing closet and shelves already installed. You may also opt to use the furniture and appliances that came with the apartment (dining table, single bed, ref, microwave)
We've lived here since Feb 2007 and it's really convenient. Quite sad to leave the SanLo (it's so close to everything!) , but we were able to get a place of our own already.
Rent is P10,750 a month (Landlady will require one month advance and one month deposit) plus association dues and utilities. Please text me if you want to see the place and I'll set up an appointment with the landlady! Hanna -- 0917 5201888

Here are some photos of the place when we were moving in :-) Click the link!

Cleaning Up

I've had several futile attempts to clean up my blog world. But I'm too sentimental. I can't bring myself to delete some old blogs.

Then I get new ideas. I end up with such a messy online space. I'll try to remedy that today.

hay.

A Rare Photo Op

If you're a patriotic Pinoy, concerned about current events, very observant... chances are -- you know her. :-)

Guess who?

(Just to make sure you guess correctly, I'm the one in pink, hehe)

Saigon, Anyone?

Anyone reading this ever been to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh,Vietnam?)

I am scheduled for a business trip from May 10-15 and I am thinking of staying an extra 1-2 days so I can see the place.

I would really really appreciate recommendations :-) plus cheap hotel accommodations (company only shoulders May 10 up to evening of May 14, and I don't want to stay there because they usually pick expensive hotels..)

Cu Chi Tunnel Adventure Tour or Mekong River Adventure Tour or just a City Tour? But I heard Saigon is just like Manila.

http://www.viator.com/Ho-Chi-Minh-City/d352-ttd

I'm thinking of doing an adventure tour the whole of Friday and go see the city on Saturday morning. But flights on Saturdays are so early - so I'm having second thoughts... I don't think I want to stay up to Sunday especially if I am alone :P I hate crossing streets and I heard Saigon's streets are worse than Manila streets!

Help ?
